This overall look brings the home alive, and it doesn’t even have any furniture besides a Mahogany Crafting Table (painted brown) and a single picture. The Boreal Wood Wall near the doors have also been painted brown, as well as the Planked Wall that lines the bottom. I could have easily used a regular Glass Wall window, but I thought the iron bar look went well with my tiki wood style hut. I used Iron Fence for the window with Shadewood painted brown as shutters. At the start of the game, it is recommended to build your base near your world spawn point, as you will have less danger. These can be built as lavishly or crudely as you see fit as long as it passes the minimum requirements for a House. The white strip of wall at the top adds some contrast, it is made out of Dynasty Wood. A base can be defined as a place to station your Bedroom, your NPCs, and your storage and crafting systems. The walls on the side are Mahogany that have been painted with Brown Paint (so that the wood matches the building rather than standing out with a reddish hue that it has normally). This new structure has seven different kinds of wood material. So I hammered down the wall and rebuilt it to look much more pretty. The wall is entirely made out of the same material (Palm Wood Wall) and doesn’t really coordinate well with the plain Wood walls on the sides.

It’s pretty plain and not really appealing to look at. This building is a good start, but not great.

For example – I have built a structure, first plain with only a couple materials, and secondly with a number of added resources and details.
